Phil Carmona, Chief Executive Officer
Phil grew up in Riverside and Hemet, CA. He earned an Associate’s degree in ASL interpreting from San Diego Mesa College, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, San Marcos. He holds RID national certification with a CI and CT. Phil served on the Mayor of Riverside's Model Deaf Community Committee for several years and currently sits on multiple Advisory Panels for schools and colleges.
Interesting fact: Phil has identical twin sons (3 boys altogether).

Adonis Parker, Chief Financial Officer
Adonis was born in Hawaii and raised in Riverside. She earned an Associate’s degree from Mt. San Jacinto College and a Certificate in ASL Interpreting from Palomar College in San Marcos, California. She holds K-12 certification through EIPA and is recognized by RID. Adonis is the past Secretary and Treasurer for California Association of the Deaf, San Jacinto Valley Chapter and was a member of the County of Riverside Mental Health Cultural Competency Committee.

Sam Farley, Director of Operations and Business Development
Sam is native to Northern California and moved to Southern California in 2011. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Behavior and a Masters Degree in Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco. Sam had several deaf friends growing up that introduced him to the Deaf Community and has been interpreting for over 20 years. He is RID certified with his NIC certification and spends his extra time with his wife and five kids as well as doing ASL performing/interpreting for Disney.
Victor Valdez II, Interpreter Resource Specialist
Victor was born Deaf and raised in San Diego. He enjoys the challenges life has to offer whether it be Volkswagen valve adjustments, troubleshooting the network server at work or teaching dogs sign language.
Hobbies: Resurrecting classic automobiles, gardening and woodworking

Jasmine Deloss, Customer Relations Manager
After her first Sign Language class at the age of 15, Jasmine knew she was meant to learn the language. She continued to study the language at Riverside City College where she was a student of the Interpreter Training Program. For 6 months, Jasmine stayed in Guyana, South America working with the Deaf and other villagers. She also worked at California School for the Deaf, Riverside as a student aide, a residential counselor and a secretary for over ten years. Jasmine is very involved in the Deaf community and loves being a part of the RISE team.

Christiana Leyvas, Lead Scheduler
Christiana grew up in San Diego and was introduced to the Deaf community at a young age. Living with a Deaf brother, she was surrounded by Deaf culture which had a big impact on her. Prior to RISE, Christiana worked as an Employment Placement Specialist and an Instructional Aide for Deaf / Hard of Hearing students. In 2012, Christiana joined the RISE team and loves being a part of an organization dedicated to serving the community.
Hobbies: Movie Fanatic and Bookworm

Alana White, Scheduler
Alana was born in Texas and relocated to Riverside when she was 5 years old. While earning her AA in Business from RCC, she began taking ASL classes to meet her language requirement. Little did she know but that experience sparked an interest that would forever change her life. Wanting to put her language skills to use, she got involved at church, joining the Deaf ministry team and eventually became main interpreter and leader! Outside of scheduling, Alana also teaches sign language at a private high school in Chino.
Amanda Rapoza, Scheduler
Amanda was first exposed to the Deaf community at the age of 8, and decided to pursue ASL in high school. She then went on to become involved in Palomar College's interpreting program before beginning work with RISE. Amanda spends most of her free time at her local rock climbing gym, playing board games, and sleeping.
Jen McCoy, Scheduler
Jen was born and raised in Riverside, Ca. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology and Business Administration, both earned at California Baptist University. She continued on with her education and obtained a Masters in Special Education and her Mild/Moderate Special Education Credentials from National University. Jen has been exposed to the Deaf community since birth, with her Mother, 3 Aunts and an Uncle all working at CSDR for most of her youth.
Mason Meeks, Accounting Assistant
Mason was born in Riverside and grew up in Hemet, CA. She earned her Associates in Mathematics and her Associates in Liberal Arts at Mt. San Jacinto College. Before joining the Accounting team, she worked as an After-Hours Interpreter Coordinator. Mason loves her job and is proud to be a part of the RISE team.
Hobbies: Swimming, reading, and going to the beach

Michelle Brown, Accounting Assistant
Sarah Covarrubias, Staff Interpreter
Sarah was born and raised in Southern California. She is a proud alumna of Vista Murrieta High School. Her interest of American Sign Language blossomed throughout the four years of classes taken. Sarah decided to venture off to the state of North Carolina to attend Gardner-Webb University for four years. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in ASL and Theatre. While Sarah was in school she participated in water polo, choir, National Honor Society, dance team, theatre, Alpha Psi Omega, mission trips, Student Government Association and campus ministries. When she returned to the Inland Empire she was thrilled to be hired by Rise Interpreting Agency as an interpreter. Sarah is a Nationally Certified Interpreter through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.

Jimmy Granger, Staff Interpreter
Jimmy Granger was born in Venezuela, and moved to Torrance, CA at a young age. Jimmy has been in Riverside since the age of 13 and has since graduated from Riverside Community College with a general AS, AA, and AS in Sign Language Interpretation. He is currently a K-12 Certified interpreter and pre-certified with RID. Jimmy is also a senior in pursuit of a BA degree at California State University, San Bernardino, majoring in Psychology. Jimmy has been an active member in the trilingual (ASL/Spanish/English) interpreting community and continues to coordinate trilingual interpreters at ASL and Spanish-influenced performance settings across Southern California.
